Real Help With Your 501(c)(3) Application
Q. What Is Form 1023-EZ?
A. Form 1023-EZ is the Streamlined Application for Recognition of Exemption Under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, introduced by the IRS on July 1, 2014.
Applicants eligible to use this two and a half page form are not required to submit financial data or organizing instruments, and, in fact, are not even required to describe the organization's activities beyond selecting an appropriate code. Instead, applicants certify, by checking boxes, not only that they are eligible to file the form, but also that they have met 501(c)(3) requirements such as the organizational and operational tests.
