About the 2016 1023-EZ Excerpt

When the IRS released Form 1023-EZ in mid-2014, I decided not to write a separate book for the Streamlined application form.  Although small 501(c)(3) applicants no longer have to submit governing documents, financial data, or even a narrative description of activities, the basic principles of tax law and IRS rules for 501(c)(3) organizations still apply to these small organizations.

Even though the new, very short, form seemed to call for a much shorter book, there was simply too much to say.  I settled for posting a series of
Frequently Asked Questions on the internet.

When I began work on the 2016 revisions to Prepare Your Own, I decided to include not only the new Form 1023-EZ, but also
Form 8940, Request for Miscellaneous Determination.  As I worked on the 2016 book, I realized it would be much longer, and that I would have to raise the price (which had been the same for more than 10 years).  It seemed unfair to ask 1023-EZ filers to pay for so much information they might not need.

The 1023-EZ Excerpt is the compromise.  I have included only those Chapters, Handbook topics, and Appendices from Prepare Your Own 501(c)(3) Application that I am sure most 1023-EZ filers will use.

Make sure this book will meet your needs:
